Family Profiles - Marcie and Mike

Hi! We are Marcie and Mike, and we appreciate this opportunity to tell you about ourselves. When I married Mike seven years ago, I knew life would never be boring and truer words were never spoken. We are blessed with our four year old son, Griffin, and we look to adoption to make his wish to be a big brother come true.

It all started 15 years ago when Mike and I met in Denver having both graduated college. We met through mutual friends and later realized we had grown up less than two miles from each other in Omaha. Mike’s job as a music industry executive has taken us from the Midwest to the East Coast and finally to beautiful, sunny southern California.

We tried, with the assistance of infertility treatments, to have a child and were blessed with our son, Griffin, four years ago. He is joyous and imaginative, and as we are unable to have another child biologically, we hope adoption will be the way to complete our family.

We live in a comfortable home in a great neighborhood with lots of parks and one of the top elementary schools in the area. The ocean is just a few blocks away, so we enjoy trips to the beach. We are in a family-oriented community with lots of children for playmates to ride bikes and play ball in the driveway.

Mike is 41 years old, 6'1" with brown hair and blue eyes. Being in the music industry, Mike is passionate about all areas of music. He is a great pianist but can pick up and play just about any instrument. I am 39 years old, 5'5" with brow hair and eyes. I used to be an advertising copywriter and I still like to write in my spare time, but I am happiest being a full time mom. I love to cook and try new recipes. I like best the time we spend as a family - at the beach, movies, visiting and entertaining family and friends.

We are blessed with supportive and open-minded families. Our parents are devoted and involved grandparents - same goes for aunts, uncles and cousins. We even have two sets of twin boys in the family! Another child will be welcomed with love.
